The Housing Office is located in the City Hall building. Housing staff provides a number of services for the New Ulm Community and the surrounding area:
Garden Terrace Apartments: The Economic Development Authority (EDA) owns Garden Terrace Apartments, which are market-rate rentals. Lloyd Management manages the day to day operations.
Homebuyer Assistance Program: This program provides EDA funds to buyers for the down payment and closing costs to purchase a home in New Ulm.
Public Housing Program: The EDA owns and manages 50 Public Housing units; 40 units at the Broadway Haus Apartments and 10 units are rental houses scattered around New Ulm. Public housing tenants pay rent based on their income.
Rental Properties: The EDA owns and manages one market-rate rental house and one vacant parking lot that has occasionally been rented to businesses.
Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program: The EDA administers 124 vouchers for Brown County. This program provides low-income households with rental assistance in the private rental market.
