Section 8 Housing
The New Ulm Economic Development Authority (EDA) administers 124 Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers for Brown County, Minnesota. This program provides rental assistance to households renting housing from private landlords. Family voucher size is determined based on household size according to the EDA Administrative Plan (PDF).
Eligibility
Effective January 1, 2014, the Section 8 HCV waiting list is open to applicants with a local preference only. To be eligible for a local preference, applicants must have a permanent legal residence, employment, or be attending school full-time in Brown County, Minnesota. Proof of local preference eligibility is required.
General Information
The rental amount is based on 30-40% of the adjusted monthly household income. Rent is reduced to help pay any tenant-paid utilities.

Broadway Haus Apartments
The New Ulm Economic Development Authority (EDA) owns Broadway Haus Apartments. All 40 dwelling units are subsidized through the Public Housing Program.

The New Ulm Economic Development Authority (EDA) owns 10 family rental units that are subsidized through the Public Housing Program. These units are for families and are located in residential neighborhoods throughout New Ulm, Minnesota.

Family unit size is determined based on household size and composition according to the EDA Occupancy Policy (PDF).
