The mission statement of the New Ulm Police Department is to protect and serve the citizens of its community. Every Officer will strive to be approachable and solidify positive partnerships with the public by establishing goodwill and maintaining public confidence.

The New Ulm Police Department responds to a wide variety of calls including:

The New Ulm Police Department is located in the Brown County Law Enforcement Center. The department consists of 23 sworn officers and five non-sworn personnel.
Two department members are responsible for animal control duties while some serve on the emergency tactical unit. The department also has four certified firearm instructor, field training officers, and a school resource officer. The New Ulm Police Department also has a police reserve unit. Reserve officers are volunteers who assist at special events or patrol with licensed officers.
