Elections & Voting
City elections are held on even-numbered years. The elected officials for the city consist of the Mayor and five council members; each serving a term of four years. The city is divided into four wards and each ward has two precincts.

Hermann Express City Bus Service
The bus service begins in September. The fixed-route service will run on a set schedule, Monday through Saturday, with start and end times to be determined.

Mayor & City Council
The Mayor and City Council are elected positions for a four-year term. They meet regularly on the first and third Tuesday of every month at 4:30 pm at City Hall - Council Chambers. They invite you to share your comments with them.

New Ulm Strategic Plan
The City of New Ulm has launched a strategic planning effort to develop and convey the City Council’s vision, goals, and priorities. As part of this effort, the City will be engaging the community around the priorities, and the efforts will be led by the City Council. This strategic plan will serve as a framework providing direction, prioritization, goals, and allocation of resources to accomplish the community’s vision.
