Returns

An after-hours drop box is accessible from the parking lot near the rear entrance of the library. Items may also be returned at any library in Minnesota.

Renewals

Renewals may be done by one of the following.

Phone Call

Contacting the library at 507-359-8331 during library hours. Please have your library card number handy as library staff will ask for the number below the card's barcode.

Online Renewals

To renew items online:

  1. Go the Library Catalog.
  2. Select “Login” at the top right corner of the page.
  3. Enter your library card number (do not type in spaces).
  4. New users to this site must create a password that includes letters and numbers.
  5. Once you have logged in, click on your name in the top right corner. Now you may see your holds, renew items, and more. Items borrowed from other parts of the state can be renewed only if the loaning library permits and requires that you call us to request a renewal.

Automatic Renewals

Books, audiobooks, newspapers, and magazines from the New Ulm Public Library's collection will be automatically renewed twice. Renewal will not be granted if other patrons have placed a hold on the item, or if the item already has reached its renewal limit (see table above). An automatic block is placed on library cards with more than five overdue items or when a balance of $10 or more accrues

Lost or Damaged Materials

The replacement cost and a $5 processing fee for lost or damaged materials will be charged to the borrowing patron.
