Then come join one of two groups on the epic search for Books Wanted! One group will be meeting in person weekly on Tuesday afternoons at 4:15 PM at Red Dragon Gaming. The other group will be meeting online according to player schedules using Discord and Roll20 applications. Never played Pathfinder before? No problem! Our experienced Game Master will be happy to walk you through the game learning process so you can enjoy the roleplaying experience. This first campaign is limited to 6 people per group so be sure to sign up early to help set a schedule that works well for everyone playing. The U.S. - Dakota War of 1862: A Historical Context with Colin Mustful2022-08-16T18:30:00Join the New Ulm Public Library on Tuesday, August 16 at 6:30 PM for an insightful presentation on Minnesota history. The U.S. – Dakota War of 1862 was a watershed event with a major, long-lasting impact. But what was the U.S. – Dakota War and how and why did it happen? In this presentation, Mustful traces the history of the war beginning in 1805 when the Dakota signed the Pike Treaty at Bdote. Throughout the presentation, Mustful identifies the multiple perspectives and factors that, over time, contributed to the Mankato hanging and the expulsion of the Dakota and Ho-Chunk peoples from Minnesota to Crow Creek, South Dakota. This free program is made possible by a grant provided by the Traverse des Sioux Library Cooperative and funded with money from Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. This interesting presentation will feature background information about relations between local Native Americans and settlers in New Ulm and will describe the events of each battle with an hour-by-hour narration.
