  1. Adult Winter Reading Program

    New Ulm Public Library

    Join the New Ulm Public Library for our annual Winter Reading Program for adults. This year’s program begins on Thursday, January 6, and continues to the end of February. Our theme this year is Bingo! Register at the library and receive your bingo sheet to start reading. Each book you read will mark off a square on your card. Get 5 in a row and bring your bingo card to the circulation desk to choose a free book from our prize shelf as well as earn an entry to win one of 3 Chamber Bucks prizes at the end of the program. You can get up to 5 name entries on your bingo sheet. Even though the program ends on Monday, February 28, you will have until Tuesday, March 15. to turn in your bingo sheet. We hope you join us! Thank you to the Friends of the New Ulm Public Library for sponsoring the program prizes.

    Join the History Book Club for their monthly discussion on the third Tuesday of the month at noon. They will meet on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 12:00 PM to discuss The Outlier by Kai Bird. The group will meet in-person in the library’s Fred Johnson room. Copies of the book are available for checkout at the circulation desk. We hope to see you there!

  3. Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Campaign

    Red Dragon Gaming and online

    Are you ready to explore The Grand Library? Do you have an itch in your imagination or an ache for adventure? Then come join one of two groups on the epic search for Books Wanted! One group will be meeting in person weekly on Tuesday afternoons at 4:15 PM at Red Dragon Gaming. The other group will be meeting online according to player schedules using Discord and Roll20 applications. Never played Pathfinder before? No problem! Our experienced Game Master will be happy to walk you through the game learning process so you can enjoy the roleplaying experience. This first campaign is limited to 6 people per group so be sure to sign up early to help set a schedule that works well for everyone playing. If there is enough interest we can create more groups or run campaigns using other games too! If you are interested in joining the online campaign, you can click the interest form link on the right side of the page.

    Come join the Minnesota Valley Civil War Round Table for their next season of presentations given each month on the third Tuesday at 6:30 PM. This month’s presentation will be on Tuesday, January 18, 2021 at 6:30 PM in the library’s meeting room and features an interactive presentation by Gary Blessman. Gary will share about lesser known Civil War battles, and you have the chance to guess the outcome! Each presentation shares insights on historical events and people connected to the Civil War.
