    Thursday, November 13, 2025, Forensic Psychologist & True Crime author Frank F. Weber will be speaking at the New Ulm Public Library from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Frank will walk attendees through profiling a case that lacked evidence, and give a live demonstration of a lie detector test (volunteer a friend). Frank will speak about his forensic work and the writing of true crime mysteries. Frank’s 2025 release, The Sun, will be available at the event. The Sun is based on a Minnesota mystery that was once touted as “the crime of the century.” Frank will be at New Ulm Library signing books and answering individual questions by 6:00 p.m. and will be available after the event.

    Join Brown County Historical Society’s Carla Fjeld for a fascinating presentation at the New Ulm Public Library on Monday, November 17 at 6:30 p.m. Come learn more about what it was like to live in Brown County during the 1930's! The presentation tells the secret stories of our county's involvement in counterfeiting rings, bootleggers, holdups and gangsters. It also highlights Brown County's experiences during Prohibition, the attitudes of the people of Brown County toward Prohibition, the effects it had on Brown County's three operating breweries, and the ways in which people ignored or bypassed Prohibition. Never played Pathfinder before? No problem! Our experienced Game Master will be happy to walk you through the game learning process so you can enjoy the roleplaying experience. This first campaign is limited to 6 people in each group. The in-person group is currently full, but spectators are welcome! The online groups have 2 and 3 slots available respectively.
