To rent a scooter, you need to download the Bird app and enter into a rental agreement with specific terms and conditions. The company rental agreements currently require a photo of your driver’s license, a credit/debit/prepaid card number, and your contact information.
You can find available scooters by using the company's app. Start the rental by tapping the “Ride” (or similar) button on the app and then use the app to scan the QR code located between the handlebars of the scooter.
To end your ride, find an appropriate parking spot and tap the "End" (or similar) button on the app, and take a photo showing where you parked the scooter.
Scooter riding is regulated by Minnesota Statute 169.225
Scooters must be parked upright and stabilized when not in use.
Sidewalk parking shall be limited to areas outside the pedestrian path of travel.
Scooters must not be parked in any location or manner that will impede normal and reasonable pedestrian traffic or access to:
Scooters shall not be parked in landscaped areas, traffic islands, in the street, in a manner that obstructs the sightlines of any intersection, or in any place where they could pose a safety hazard.

Scooters are disabled starting at midnight (12:00 a.m.) and are re-enabled beginning at 4:00 a.m. the following day.
