Police Reserve Unit

Are you interested in serving your community? The New Ulm Police Reserve Unit might be what you've been looking for! The New Ulm Police Reserve Officers are volunteer, non-paid, non-sworn employees of the New Ulm Police Department (NUPD). Duties may include assisting at special events, traffic or crowd control, patrolling with NUPD officers as assigned. A Reserve Officer's duties do not include enforcement of general criminal laws of the State, and the Officer does not have the full powers of arrest or authorization to carry a firearm on duty.

Minimum RequirementsNew Ulm Police Badge

  • Applicants will be subject to a background investigation
  • At least 19 years of age
  • High School diploma or equivalent certification
  • Must pass a medical physical, paid for by the City of New Ulm
  • Possess a valid Minnesota Driver's license and have a good driving record
  • United States citizen
